Dr Brodie Paterson

Dr Paterson is presently Clinical Director of CALM training and was previously a Senior Lecturer at the University of Stirling in Scotland.

Dr Paterson is a registered mental health and learning disability nurse with degrees in psychology, sociology and education. He has published over a 100+ articles, research papers and book chapters on violence as a clinical, social and political problem.

Dr Paterson’s research interests include restrictive intervention reduction, attachment and trauma informed practice, restraint safety, mental health social policy and the development of corrupted cultures in care settings.

Dr Paterson presently is Chair of the European Network for Training in the Management of Aggression [ENTMA08].
